Why
Liberate hundreds of Ugandan ladies with the provision of AFRIpads - a re-usable sanitary towel which will lead their way to emancipation!
How
In order to fill the void between expensive (and often unaffordable) disposable pads and the ineffective makeshift alternatives (banana leaves, mud, newspapers) that girls frequently rely on, one of the activities promoted by AFRIpads is to donate sanitary pads to the poorest schoolgirls across the Ugandan country-side. In order to accomplish our goal -working towards gender equality amongst schoolgirls by making a cost-effective solution to a gender-specific obstacle to girls’ education- AFRIpads' representatives select schools that are most in need of our product. While visiting these schools, an introduction about menstrual hygiene is provided and AFRIpads' kits are distributed. This way, girls are able to attend school for a whole year.
